Best Buy Price Tracker: Get Alerts Automatically

Does Best Buy Have a Price Tracker?

If you have ever waited for a GPU, laptop, or TV to drop in price on Best Buy, you have probably wondered whether the retailer offers any kind of built-in price tracking. The short answer is no. Best Buy does not provide a native tool that lets you set a target price and receive an alert when a product hits that number.

What Best Buy does offer is a Price Match Guarantee. If you find a lower price at a qualifying competitor within 15 days of your purchase, Best Buy will match it. That is a useful policy, but it is entirely reactive. You still have to discover the lower price yourself, and you have to act before the return window closes.

Best Buy also lets you save items to a wishlist and will occasionally send promotional emails when those items go on sale. However, these notifications are unreliable. They depend on Best Buy's marketing calendar, not your personal price threshold. You might get an email about a 5% discount when you were really waiting for a 20% drop, or you might miss a flash sale entirely because the email landed in your spam folder.

For shoppers who are serious about catching the best deal, this gap is frustrating. Electronics prices on Best Buy fluctuate constantly, especially around product launches, seasonal sales, and clearance events. A graphics card that costs $699 today could be $599 next week and back to $679 the week after. Without automated tracking, you are left refreshing the page manually and hoping you happen to check at the right moment.

Third-Party Price Tracking Options

The most popular price tracking tool on the internet is CamelCamelCamel, but it only works with Amazon — see our Amazon automation feature if that is what you need. CamelCamelCamel cannot track Best Buy prices at all. If you search for "Best Buy price tracker," you will find a handful of alternatives, but each comes with significant limitations.

Browser extensions like Honey or Keepa focus primarily on coupon codes and Amazon price history, respectively. Some lesser-known extensions can track Best Buy prices, but they typically only show you a price history chart. They cannot take action on your behalf. You still have to check the extension manually or wait for a browser notification that is easy to miss, especially if you are not actively using your computer.

Price comparison websites like Google Shopping or PriceGrabber aggregate prices across retailers, but they do not offer persistent monitoring with custom thresholds. You can search for a product and see the current price at multiple stores, but there is no way to say "tell me when this specific Best Buy listing drops below $400."

Deal alert services like Slickdeals rely on community submissions. They are great for discovering deals that others have found, but they are not personalized. You cannot target a specific product at a specific price point. You are at the mercy of whether another user happens to spot and post the deal you care about.

The core problem with all of these tools is the same: they are passive. They can show you data, but they cannot act on it. None of them will send you a text message when a price drops, check the page on a schedule you define, or adapt to changes in Best Buy's page layout. That is where browser automation comes in.

How to Track Best Buy Prices with BotBro

BotBro is a desktop application that automates browser tasks using AI. Instead of writing code or configuring complicated scraping tools, you describe what you want in plain English and BotBro handles the rest. Here is how to set up automated Best Buy price tracking from scratch.

Step 1: Download and Install BotBro

Head to the BotBro homepage and download the installer for your platform. BotBro is available for both Windows and macOS. The installer includes everything you need, including a bundled browser, so there is nothing else to set up.

Step 2: Paste the Best Buy Product URL

Open BotBro and find the task input field. Paste the full Best Buy product URL directly into your task instruction. For example, if you are tracking the price of an NVIDIA RTX 5080, you would include the complete URL like https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080/... right in the prompt.

Step 3: Write Your Instruction

This is where BotBro shines. You write your automation task in natural language. For a price tracker, your instruction might look something like:

"Go to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/nvidia-geforce-rtx-5080/... and check the current price. If the price is under $800, send a text to %phone% saying 'RTX 5080 is now $[price] on Best Buy!'"

BotBro understands conditional logic. It will navigate to the page, read the price, evaluate your condition, and only send the notification if the threshold is met. No code required.

Step 4: Set Up the Scheduler

BotBro includes a built-in task scheduler with two modes. Interval mode lets you run the task on a repeating cycle, for example every 30 minutes or every 2 hours. Daily mode lets you schedule the task to run once per day at a specific time. For price tracking, interval mode with a check every few hours strikes a good balance between staying current and not overloading the page.

Step 5: Enable Change Detection (Optional)

BotBro has a change detection toggle that you can enable for any task. When turned on, BotBro compares the result of each run to the previous one and alerts you if anything has changed. This is useful if you do not have a specific price threshold in mind but simply want to know whenever the price moves in either direction. It catches flash sales, temporary markdowns, and even price increases that might signal a product is about to go out of stock.

Step 6: Add Your Phone Number as a Secure Variable

BotBro supports sensitive variables that are stored locally on your machine and never sent to any LLM provider. Navigate to the Variables tab and create a new variable called phone with your phone number as the value. In your task instruction, reference it as %phone%. BotBro substitutes the real value at runtime but keeps it hidden from the AI model, so your personal information stays private.

Step 7: Click Start

That is it. BotBro will open its built-in browser, navigate to the Best Buy page, extract the price, evaluate your conditions, and send you a text message via Twilio if the criteria are met. On subsequent scheduled runs, it repeats the entire process automatically. You can minimize BotBro and go about your day while it monitors the price for you.

Real Example Tasks

Here are five ready-to-use task prompts you can paste directly into BotBro. Replace the URLs and variables with your own values.

Price Threshold Alert

"Go to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/sony-65-class-bravia-xr/... and check the current price. If the price is under $1,200, text %phone% saying 'Sony 65-inch Bravia is now under $1,200 on Best Buy.'"

Back-in-Stock + Price Check

"Navigate to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/ps5-console/... and check if the Add to Cart button is available. If it is in stock and the price is $499 or less, text %phone% with 'PS5 is in stock at Best Buy for $[price]. Buy it now!'"

Open-Box Deal Monitor

"Go to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/apple-macbook-pro-14/... and check if there are any Open Box options listed. If an open-box option exists under $1,500, text %phone% with the open-box condition and price."

Competitor Price Comparison

"Go to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/samsung-galaxy-s25/... and note the price. Then go to https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0D... and note that price. If Amazon's price is lower, text %phone% with both prices so I can request a Best Buy price match."

Bundle Deal Tracker

"Go to https://www.bestbuy.com/site/searchpage.jsp?st=rtx+5080+bundle and look at the top 3 results. If any bundle is priced under $1,000, text %phone% with the bundle name, price, and link."

Each of these examples takes advantage of BotBro's core capabilities: navigating to a specific URL, reading and understanding page content, evaluating conditions, and sending SMS alerts. You can combine these patterns however you like. Want to track five different products at once? Create five separate tasks, each with its own schedule and threshold.

Best Buy Price Match Support

Best Buy's Price Match Guarantee is one of the more consumer-friendly policies in electronics retail. If you buy a product from Best Buy and then find a lower price at a qualifying online retailer, a local competitor, or on BestBuy.com itself within 15 days, Best Buy will refund the difference.

The challenge is finding that lower price in time. Manually checking Amazon, Walmart, Newegg, and B&H Photo every day for two weeks after every purchase is not realistic. This is exactly the kind of repetitive, time-sensitive task that BotBro was designed for.

After making a purchase on Best Buy, you can set up a BotBro task that checks the same product on competitor websites on a daily schedule. If any competitor drops below the price you paid, BotBro sends you an SMS with the competitor's price and the URL. You then have the evidence you need to contact Best Buy and request a price match, all without spending a single minute checking prices yourself.

This approach is especially powerful during high-volatility periods like Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and back-to-school sales. Prices can change multiple times per day, and a deal that appears at 6 AM might be gone by noon. With BotBro running interval checks, you catch those windows automatically.

Keep in mind that Best Buy's price match policy has some exclusions. Marketplace sellers, clearance items, and certain limited-time offers may not qualify. But for standard retail pricing from major competitors, it works well, and BotBro makes it effortless to take advantage of.

Getting Started

Tracking Best Buy prices does not have to mean refreshing a browser tab every hour or hoping a deal alert site catches the exact product you want. With BotBro, you define the product, the threshold, and the notification method, and the software handles everything else on autopilot.

Whether you are waiting for a GPU to drop before a big game launch, monitoring open-box deals on a MacBook, or building a price match case after a recent purchase, BotBro turns what used to be a tedious manual process into something you can set up in under two minutes and forget about. You can also use BotBro for auto checkout when the price is right.

The scheduler runs your task on whatever cadence you choose. The change detection toggle catches price movements you did not anticipate. Secure variables keep your phone number and other personal data private. And because BotBro uses a real browser under the hood, it works reliably with Best Buy's dynamic product pages, no scraping hacks or fragile selectors required.

Download BotBro, set up your first price tracker, and stop leaving money on the table. Check our pricing page for plan options.
